Odeon / Walker Theatre Mural

Title: Untitled
364 Smith Street (south side) Map
Unveiled: 1972

Winston Leathers

Artwalls was a national art program in the 1970s sponsored by
Benson and Hedges Tobacco Company to 'enhance the urban environment' by painting murals in high traffic areas of Canada's main cities. In the summer of 1972 they teamed up with the Winnipeg Art Gallery to choose three finalists for Winnipeg's downtown: Bill Lobchuk, Bruce Head and Winston Leathers.

This was Leathers' creation. Unfortunately, I cannot find information about the locations of the other two murals.

  1. That's great that you even got this much information about it. I mean I remember that mural from my visits downtown and I'd sometimes wonder when it was done and by who.
